SBO design is a one-person website design and development studio in Bellevue, WA, run by myself, Sibel Ozcubukcu. I provide professional websites that are carefully hand-crafted from the ground up to small and medium sized businesses.

SBO design is built on a foundation of web standards - valid, structured code to produce pages that will look great on modern browsers yet still functional and usable on older ones. I believe that design is not simply the method of organizing elements into something "cool" or "eye-catching." Design is the practice of creating meaningful paths of communication from one to another. Effective web design is the ability to effectively communicate your message to your client.

My approach is simple: I create usable, clear and beautiful websites.

One reason I stay small is so I can remain personally connected with both my clients and the work I produce for them. Someone’s gotta be the little guy, and in an increasingly agency-run industry, I’m happy to play that role. My clients tend to value that direct interaction and lack of a management layer.

I have over 20 years of software development experience in multiple languages and platforms. I started with my carrier as an application developer on the IBM mainframe environment. For the past 10 years I have gained in depth knowledge of web technologies.

I create. I’m happiest when designing, building, or creating something that didn’t previously exist. I always enjoy a creative challenge and push myself to produce the best work possible.

Why work with me?

I do a lot. My clients tend to need the multi-talented approach that a larger team can offer, in situations where hiring a full team may not make sense.

I’m small. Read over there on the left about why I don’t have employees.

I don’t need special care and watering. My clients are usually looking for a plug-and-play contractor, someone who can jump in and start working a project without spending days in meetings.

Why work with another agency?

I don’t do it all. If you're looking for programming help or extensive Flash work or other things outside my core competencies, you ought to find someone better suited.

I’m small.I can't take on lengthy 16 month projects or large-scale work that requires a team.

How quickly can I get it done?

A comfortable time frame is somewhere between one and three months from start to finish, and a month or two of lead time before kicking it off is always good.

How much do I charge?

Depends on the work… Okay, here’s a real answer: most of my budgets typically run between $2,000 and $25,000.
